Dua for Illness and Healing (Shifa) – Powerful Islamic Supplications
Illness tests the body and the heart, but Islam offers comforting duas that bring healing, hope and spiritual strength. Many of these duas were taught by Muhammad (s.a.v.), and they are among the most uplifting words a believer can recite during sickness.

1. Dua Taught by the Prophet (s.a.v.) for Every Illness
Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ،
اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي،
لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ،
شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Transliteration
Allahumma Rabb an-nās, adhhib al-bas,
washfi anta ash-Shāfī,
lā shifā’a illā shifā’uk,
shifā’an lā yughadiru saqaman.
Meaning
“O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the suffering.
Heal (him/her), for You are the Healer.
There is no healing except Your healing,
a healing that leaves no trace of illness.”
Virtue
This is the strongest and most authentic dua for healing.
2. Quranic Healing Dua – Surah Al-Isra 17:82
Arabic
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Meaning
“We send down in the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.”
Bu ayet hastaya okunur, özellikle manevi şifa için çok güçlüdür.
3. Dua of Ayyub (A.S.) – For Deep Hardship & Pain
Arabic
أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Meaning
“Indeed, harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
Virtue
Severe illness, long-term pain, ruhî yorgunluk için çok etkili bir duadır.
4. “Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim” – 3 Times on the Pain Area
Arabic
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Meaning
“In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate.”
Hadiste, ağrı olan bölgeye el koyup bu dua 3 kez okunur.
5. Short Healing Dhikr (Most Soothing)
Arabic
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
Meaning
“O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, I seek help through Your mercy.”
Kalbi sakinleştirir, hastanın moralini yükseltir.
How to Use These Duas (Step-by-Step)
✔️ Until recovery, recite morning + evening
✔️ Read the duas on water (ruqya method) and drink
✔️ Blow lightly onto hands and wipe over body
✔️ Play Surah Fatiha, Ikhlas, Falaq, Nas for healing
✔️ Keep wudu as much as possible
