1. Main Dua for Travelling (Safar Dua)
Arabic
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا
وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ
وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Transliteration
Subhānalladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā
wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn
wa innā ilā Rabbinā lamunqalibūn.
Meaning
“Glory be to Him who has subjected this (vehicle) to us,
and we could not have done so on our own.
And surely, to our Lord we shall return.”

2. Dua When Starting the Journey
Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا
الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى
وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى
Transliteration
Allahumma innā nas’aluka fī safarinā hādhā
al-birra wat-taqwā,
wa min al-‘amali mā tarḍā.

“O Allah, we ask You in this journey for righteousness and piety,
and for deeds that please You.”

Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَٰذَا
وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ
Transliteration
Allahumma hawwin ‘alaynā safaranā hādhā
waṭwi ‘annā bu‘dah.
Meaning
“O Allah, make this journey easy for us
and shorten its distance for us.”

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ
وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ
Transliteration
Allahumma anta as-sāḥibu fis-safar,
wal-khalīfatu fil-ahl.
Meaning
“O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey
and the Protector of the family we left behind.”

Arabic
آيِبُونَ، تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ
لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
Transliteration
Ā’ibūn, tā’ibūn, ‘ābidūn,
li Rabbina ḥāmidūn.
Meaning
“Returning, repenting, worshipping,
and praising our Lord.”
